Government-led Innovation Programs (GIPs) are highly competitive programs that encourage domestic small businesses to engage in Federal Research/Research and Development (R/R&D). By including qualified small businesses in the nation’s R&D arena, high-tech innovation is stimulated, and the United States gains entrepreneurial spirit as it meets its specific research and development needs. The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs are the most widely known GIPs. Two other programs fit under the GIPs program, the Challenge Program and the Science & Technology Program. This training will provide the basics of the GIPs, including what the program is, who can participate, and steps to get started. Determination factors will be discussed to help you decide if jumping into the Government-led Innovation Programs is right for you!
