| Green Source Janitorial provides cutting edge, environmentally friendly, cleaning solutions that incorporate all office cleaning, janitorial services, carpet cleaning, facility maintenance, covid-19 cleaning, sanitizing services and much more for companies across the San Francisco Bay Area. Green Source Janitorial Owner, Daniel Petrosian, had very little experience with government contracting but was interested in selling their services to both the State of California as well as the U.S. federal government. They solicited Norcal PTAC’s assistance with state and federal registrations, and getting certified as a small business. |
CHALLENGES
Green Source Janitorial faced several road blocks when trying to register with the State of California and the U.S. federal government. They had recently changed their name and transitioned from a sole source to an LLC, which meant that in order to register for the State of California they had to coordinate with CA Department of General Services (DGS) first to change their EIN number. Additionally, they were issued a DUNS number to their old name, which meant they had to update their DUNS information before registering on beta.SAM.gov to do business with the federal government.
ACTIONS
Green Source Janitorial’s PTAC Procurement Specialist walked them through the EIN change with DGS and used a special phone line dedicated to PTACs to update their DUNS information within a matter of minutes. Once Green Source Janitorial was registered with both the State of California (Cal eProcure) as well as the federal government (SAM), they were set up with a PTAC Bid Match account and started receiving bid opportunities immediately. Their PTAC Specialist trained them on how to interpret and respond to solicitations, and they became practiced at doing so.
RESULTS
Within a short time span, Green Source Janitorial was registered with the State of California and U.S. federal government, and certified as a small business (SB). Owner, Daniel Petrosian was able to hone his solicitation and proposal skills and ended up winning a three-year contract with CA Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for $116,610. They also received an award notice from the County of Alameda but the contract is still pending.
