PLANET HALO HEALTH INC.

“Norcal PTAC was able to point us in the right direction to help register for the appropriate entities. They also assisted us in getting in front of the right departments, who required our services. They were an integral piece in getting our business up and running, and we couldn’t be more appreciative of their efforts.”

All Client Stories
Planet Halo is a bay area company that specializes in fleet management and telematics for commercial vehicles. Thanks to this company’s extensive distribution network, and relationships to manufacturing facilities and employees based overseas, the company very quickly adapted to the COVID-19 outbreak in early 2020 by establishing a new department, Planet Halo Health, which can source and supply Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in bulk. Their products include masks, face shields, nitrile gloves, and sanitizing solutions.

CHALLENGES

Ted Wu, owner of Planet Halo Inc. had access to a continuous supply of PPE and was looking to get it out to those in need as quickly as possible but he did not have experience selling to the government and requested assistance identifying opportunities during this critical PPE shortage around the nation.

ACTIONS

A Norcal PTAC Procurement Specialist guided Ted through government contracting resources, directed him to register as a bidder and a Small Business in Cal eProcure, referred him to register with the DLA DIBBS system, and reviewed his pending SAM registration. The Procurement Specialist set up a custom bid match for the company and forwarded some current bid opportunities relevant to PPE for COVID-19 as well as direct contact info for individual buyers and small business advocates.

RESULTS

Ted and his team followed up on the various opportunities and received interest from the contacts he reached out to. The company has completed all relevant certifications and registrations. In the few months since working with Norcal PTAC, the company won several awards at a total of $10,000, some on an ongoing basis.
