Certifications Overview for Veteran Owned Businesses

May 16 10:00 am — 11:00 am

Are you a business owner who has served in the United States Military? As a veteran-owned business you may qualify for certifications that give you a leg up in the government marketplace and increase your chances of winning more contracts!

Getting certified allows your veteran-owned business to compete for special “set-aside” contracts with limited competition. These certifications include Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) with the State of California, and Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with the U.S. federal government.

In this intro level webinar, Norcal APEX Accelerator/ PTAC Procurement Specialist and Navy Veteran, Joe Moore will explain how these certifications can be valuable for increasing revenue, and give a basic overview of the qualifications and application processes for each.

In this webinar you will learn:

  • What are government certifications?
  • Advantages and disadvantages of being certified
  • Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) certification
  • Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB/ SDVOSB) certification
  • How to utilize Veteran Business Outreach Center resources
